There Are Birds.
This morning, there were birds again. I drive across Lake Norman on my way to work every day, and for the last few days, there have been hundreds of big, beautiful, white birds spinning, hovering, and diving in one area of the lake. They are lovely.
They must be feeding on something. I am watching these lovely birds and experiencing a sense of awe and wonder, but beneath the surface of the lake, something is dying in sufficient numbers to create a feeding frenzy among the birds.
Isn't that always the way of things?
